The Old Tanjil Road Boat Ramp, located on the northern
side of Blue Rock Lake in Willow Grove, Victoria, is a well-maintained facility
providing convenient water access for boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming.
The ramp is accessible via Old Tanjil Road and is surrounded by the scenic
foothills of Mount Baw Baw, offering breathtaking natural views for visitors.
This single deep-water stone ramp ensures reliable
launching conditions at all water levels, making it a preferred spot for both
recreational and fishing boats. A newly installed floating pontoon improves
accessibility, allowing for smoother boarding and disembarking. The ramp is
accompanied by an asphalt turnaround area, which facilitates easy maneuvering
for vehicles with trailers. Blue Rock Lake is a popular destination for fishing, known for species such as Australian Bass and Redfin. Anglers and boaters using this ramp should be mindful of local regulations, including the 15-knot speed limit enforced on the lake.
Although there are only three designated car/trailer
parking spaces, additional parking are available nearby. The area features
toilets, kids playground, picnic tables, and a designated swimming zone, and a walking track, making it an excellent
spot for a day of family outings and recreational activities.
