Nestled in Tullah,
Lake Rosebery is the perfect spot for a peaceful and scenic boating adventure.
Whether you're looking to paddle, cruise, fish, or simply unwind by the water,
this lakeside gem has something for everyone.
The single-lane
concrete boat ramp comes with a small pontoon, offering direct access to the
lake. A white navigation light onshore helps guide boaters in low-light
conditions, making early morning or evening trips more convenient. Just a few
meters away, a jetty offers breathtaking views of the lake, surrounding hills,
and mountains, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and photography.
Outdoor lovers can
enjoy canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing (for trouts, mudeyes, and eels) and
even swimming, but keep in mind that diving is not allowed.
If you’re bringing a
boat or trailer, ample parking spaces are available near the ramp. Keep in mind
that there are no direct amenities within the ramp.
For those planning a
longer stay, the Lakeside Lodge nearby offers comfortable accommodations, so
you can extend your lakeside retreat for a night or even a few days.
Important Update: Part
of Lake Rosebery has reopened to the public as of the first week of March 2025,
following a recent oil spill. While some booms remain in place for ongoing
cleanup efforts, recreational activities like boating and swimming are safe.
Hydro Tasmania continues to manage the water levels to help clear the remaining
oil.
The Department of Health has confirmed that
trout caught in open areas are safe to eat. However, eating eels is not
recommended until further testing is completed.
Whether you're here
for a day trip or an overnight adventure, Lake Rosebery is a fantastic
destination to soak in nature, enjoy water activities, and escape the hustle
and bustle.
